We are looking for a Cathode Process Engineer to bring up and manage our pilot-scale lab for lithium-ion battery cathode products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Commission new equipment, and support R&D with pilot scale manufacturing expertise
  • Optimize manufacturing equipment and write SOPs
  • Synthesize precursor materials and cathode materials for R&D and customer qualification
  • Drive QC at multiple points in the manufacturing process
  • Collect and analyze sample data to optimize plant performance
  • Project management and progress reporting
  • Troubleshoot large scale process and synthesis equipment
 

Experience:

  • BS or MS degree in Materials Science or Chemistry
  • 1-2 years in pilot scale chemical R&D (4+ years of experience for Sr level)
  • Experience with Lithium-ion battery cathode material synthesis
  • Experience working with slurries and/or hazardous materials
  • Process control and basics/fundamentals with electrical
  • Experience with analytical instruments/testing (PSA, SEM/microscopy, ICP, UV-Vis spectroscopy, auto-titration, tap density)

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $92,000-$136,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus and equity plan.
