We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Construction Project Manager to join our industrialization team and lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Mitra Chem’s first manufacturing plant build-out in Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the factory build-out project from conceptual design to completion
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive project execution plan and schedule to ensure all project milestones are met on time
  • Serve as the primary liaison between multiple engineering firms, external project managers, consultants, and other key stakeholders, including international partners
  • Monitor costs and expenditures; identify and address cost overruns and variances in a timely manner
  • Review and assess design drawings, specifications, and documents provided by engineering firms to ensure they meet project requirements and standards.
  • Ensure that all designs are in alignment with client requirements, construction codes, and safety standards
  • Act similarly as an owner’s representative by managing the contractors, subcontractors and suppliers involved in the project
  • Oversee construction progress, ensuring that work is performed according to the approved design, on time, and within budget.
  • Monitor quality control throughout the construction phase and address any issues or discrepancies that arise on-site
  • Assist with commissioning of production lines and equipment, ensuring a successful transition from construction and commissioning to start of operations 
 

Qualification and requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree with 10+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in chemical manufacturing industry
  • Flexible to relocate to Michigan to stay close to the construction site
  • Strong understanding of construction and MEP systems, and proven experience with general contractors and trade professionals
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction software and project management tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD). PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of EHS and regulations within the construction and chemical manufacturing industry
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with firms in Asia. Ability to adapt and manage cultural differences between Asian and American firms. Korean or Mandarin speaker is preferred.
